An estimated 44,000 people in Ireland are diagnosed with cancer each year. Almost everyone is affected—either directly or through a loved one facing the disease. As a club, our members have always been generous in supporting charitable endeavours, and this is another important cause.
One of the most impactful things we can do is back research into cancer prevention and treatment. We therefore invite all members and their families to join us on Saturday, August 24th for a day of fun activities and fundraising events as we raise as much as we can for the Irish Cancer Society.

Below is a schedule of adult activities and events for everyone to enjoy. Be sure to complete your registration for events using the form below

Time: 9am-late
Location: Portmarnock Tennis Club Room, Courts 1-6 & the PSLC Bar
- Throughout the day we’ll have cake sales, merch, fun games and prizes plus our fellow community members are volunteering their time to share experiences and advice about dealing with cancer. A truly special opportunity from inspirational neighbours.
- 9am-11am – Kid’s Camp. See poster below for more details and how to register
- 11am-12pm – Non-members sampler session. Give tennis a try with our coaches and committee members
- 12pm-2pm – Adults’ Tennis Olympics. It’s time for the adults to act like kids and compete in a range of fun tennis themed events. 20 minutes per event and it’s first come first served. There will be plenty of goodies to enjoy during any short wait for your turn in the competition.
- 2pm-4pm – Ladies’ American Tournament. Space is limited for these ever-popular events so, don’t forget to register.
- 4pm-6pm – Men’s American Tournament. Time for the men to follow the example of the ladies with their tennis skills and competitive spirit.
- 6pm-7pm – Return of the Juniors. Watch our club legends from junior years, put on an exhibition of incredible tennis for us all to cheer. inners will be crowned, portraits taken and totals announced as we celebrate this day of fun that delivers for the most serious and important of causes.

- 11am-12pm – Charity Swimathon all open lanes open for the hour will be donated to the cause
- 1pm-3pm – Padel Tennis Competition with Padel player and coach Caroline Jordan
- 3pm- 5pm – Pickleball introduction and friendly competition. Learn more about this fun and increasingly popular sport
